Powering Women into Clean Energy Apprenticeships GIA Report

Also funded by the Building Womens’ Careers program, this research investigates issues faced by employers and women working in the electrical sectors of Victoria and Tasmania, with a focus on Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs).

Drawing on a literature review and interviews with women apprentices and key stakeholders across industry and training, the report outlines the key structural and cultural barriers limiting women’s entry and retention in electrical apprenticeships. It draws on research and lived experience to show how workplace culture, facilities and recruitment practices shape outcomes. The report also provides clear, practical actions employers can take to create safer, more inclusive worksites.
