The Big Sister: Advanced Mentoring SA/WA project drives transformational change in the construction and clean energy sectors by implementing an access and retention program for women apprentices, led by women for women.

Big Sister supports and advances the participation of women in the electrotechnology and clean energy sectors in South Australia and Western Australia. The project delivers a pre-vocational training program, mentoring, industry awareness events, and employer engagement to improve gender equity in traditionally male-dominated trades.

Big Sister RAISES AWARENESS about the huge opportunities for women to join the energy trades as well as raising awareness of the opportunities among key stakeholders and industry partners.

Big Sister ENGAGES employers, government bodies, service providers and training providers to support the initiative.

Big Sister PROMOTES participation among women interested in apprenticeships in the construction and clean energy sectors including school-based, school leavers and mature age cohorts.
