2025 Smart Energy Council Conference

Big Sister was at the 2025 Smart Energy Council Conference and Expo in Adelaide this week. It was a fantastic event – featuring our own Emma Hall, and a great opportunity to highlight the role that women play in SA’s energy future, as both workers and consumers.

Massive thanks to the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations Building Women’s Careers for co-exhibiting with Big Sister. We spoke to employers, dads, uncles, grandmas, apprenticeship support providers, consumer groups and clean energy retailers and developers about our brilliant Big Sister program – supporting and advancing the participation of women in the electrotechnology and clean energy sectors in South Australia and Western Australia.

By sharing a booth with two other excellent BWC projects – Together we R.I.S.E and AMWU – Women In Trades and Tech – we were able to connect people to the trade opportunities that suited them best. Collaborative, connected approaches are what we need to achieve systemic change for our industry.

Big Sister, led by women for women.
