Mentor Program

The Big Sister mentoring program connects women apprentices with trained, experienced tradeswomen who understand the realities of working in the construction and clean-energy sectors. 

Through regular contact and genuine peer support, mentors help apprentices stay engaged, feel confident in their workplace, and complete their apprenticeship. Each mentor offers guidance, encouragement, and a safe space to talk openly about the challenges and achievements of learning a trade. The program will also offer networking opportunities for apprentices to meet and learn together over the course of their training.  

The Big Sister mentoring program is designed to improve retention and create long-term change — building a community of women who not only finish their training but go on to strengthen and diversify the industry. 

The mentoring program will be delivered in partnership with our GTO project partners PEER and EGT, and is currently in the design phase, for launch in 2026. For more information, please register.
